The low ground around the historic downtown, Richmar and the Highway 78 corridor gets less moving air and stays warm after sunset, so a system there is pulling a house down that has been soaking up heat all afternoon. Climb into Discovery Hills, Santa Fe Hills or San Elijo Hills and the picture changes: more wind, faster overnight cooling, and west-facing glass that takes direct sun for hours.
